Very friendly. Applicants played Wii while waiting for interviews.

Program Advantages
Excellent surgical volume with two VAs, four residents a year now, friendly atmosphere.
Great faculty Excellent facilities Happy residents with early surgical experience
High surgical volume. Awesome cornea fellowhip. Young and up-coming faculty
From top to bottom of program, everyone is very personal and nice. I got to know the attendings here more than the attendings at my home institution. Strong faculty with the big 3 of Mannis, Schwab, and Keltner. Residents seem very skilled and start parti
Great feel, early surgical experience, great cornea people.
Everything! Amazing program. Surgical experience starts on day 1. Residents do corneal surgeries from first to last cut, strong retina experience.
-High surgical numbers, top-notch surgical training -Learn directly from faculty -Front loaded call -California life -Hospitals close together
Program Disadvantages
Sacramento has both adv/disadv depending on the individual
Sacramento isn't a bad location, but isn't great either. 1.5hr from bay area, a few hours from skiing slopes.
From a resident: 'If you want to do oculoplastics, UC-Davis isn't for you'
None, incredible.
-Tough inpatient consult -Small faculty -No dedicated research time
