Match Experience
Did not match. I ranked all twelve programs at which I attended interviews. I sent nice, personalized thank you cards to the PD of each program I interviewed at. When submitting my rank list, our Dean, who was formerly the chair of our ophthalmology program, said "Your rank list looks great and appropriate. I'm confident you will end up at one of your top choices. There really is nothing more you should do... - I'm sure your application will speak for itself." Feedback from the programs that were nice enough to respond about how my application was evaluated have not mentioned any red flags, simply that they filled quickly and did not get to me on the list. I think if I were a boorish, unattractive, abrasive, offensive person that would totally blow every interview, I would have had some sort of warning throughout my clinical years. So, I have no idea. Be very afraid.
