Great volume (close to 200-250 phacos), location, seems like excellent clinical experience
- Program Disadvantages:
staggered start (2/3 of matched residents will have to spend an extra year to wait for the fellowship application season), most are volunteer faculty, there are few CPMC faculty

small faculty, this is probably changing

High volume, depth (residents do even retina surgeries!). Probably the top training program out there in terms of surgical experience. Volume so large, fellows don't compete for numbers

Saturday lectures, very difficult to park, all residents married. has a big HHMI researcher, but otherwise very little NIH funded research here
Maryland

Massachusetts

Many fellows, disputed clinical volume (range from 80-120), Azar, D'Amico, Dryja have left

Michigan
