Awesome residents, some faculty were rather full of themselves and were somewhat less than humble about their program. Overall good vibes however.

Awesome facilities, awesome reputation, awesome volume. The total package.

LOTS of driving in LA traffic. Two of the hospitals are ~60 miles apart.

Amazing institution. On a weekend morning virtually ALL the faculty were there because they cared enough about the applicants to show up. Panel interviews of 5 on 1 but they didn't feel intimidating.

Location in denver, great facilities, up and coming faculty
- Program Disadvantages:
slightly less well known than many equivalent programs

Great experience, Kind of weird questions from their research associate but fun all the same.
- Program Advantages:
HUGE cataract volume, great autonomy, no resident run indigent clinic
- Program Disadvantages:
No resident run indigent clinic (it goes both ways) and in Gainesville which is a fine enough town, but 2 hours from a major airport.

Louisville is a nice city. the program is reasonably well funded

Extremely friendly interviews and residents. I did not get to interview with the PD because he was late.

Huge surgical volume, lots of autonomy.
- Program Disadvantages:
Crappy facilities, shreveport itself wasn't that nice.

Really freaking cold in detroit, in house call(both of which were dealbreakers for me)

Well organized, great pitch, good interviews, enthused residents. PD was obviously very familiar with our applications.

Great volume, great autonomy, large program with many locations and a lot of pathology.
- Program Disadvantages:
Chairman can be somewhat intimidating, but he gets the job done and is a huge asset to the program.

Had to take an eye exam for stereopsis, color and VA while there. Interviewed with a psychologist whose role in the program was somewhat unclear and was slightly weird.
