Interview Experiences 4 interviews. They are very open about the program and realize it is not a so-called 'top tier' program. Lunch with 2 residents - not much of a tour. Ranked #11 several interviews. taken out for awesome lunch with residents. Dinner the night before, but I couldn't attend
7:30AM-1:00PM Pretty good interview experience. PD really reads over application which was nice. Great interview experience. Everyone was VERY nice. One interview I spent all the time talking about camping and hiking. San Antonio is beautiful, safe, great climate (although on the hot side, affordable and simply a great place to raise a family. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages Focused on teaching. San Antonio is cheap. Big medical center.
Lots of Research.
nice facilities, and attendings. great place to raise a family. great volume, solid didactics, research opportunities, moonlighting Will be well-trained with lots of autonomy. Can buy a big house for super-cheap close to the Hospital. Program seems very evenly strong throughout all sections of Radiology. Friendly staff. On a wonderful city. A lot of volume but program is large to buffer the call schedule. Great pathology with University Hospital, VA Hospital and Santa Rosa Children's. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages Few research opportunities. Little resident interaction. It was strange to meet so many FMG fellows that have not done a Radiology residency first in the US.
oppressive summer heat Currently facilities are in flux, but this may be done before 2012. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
