Interview Experiences 3 interviews in a 2-3:1 format with lunch before or after. Short interview day was very pleasant. 3 interview, tour, lunch Talk from PD in the lobby of clinic, few small panel interviews. Lunch in hostoric building. Enjoyable interview experience. Interviews were held in the main Ophthalmology clinic. The residents were all present during the interview day to answer questions and mingle with the applicants. Dinner afterwards at the downtown mall was fun and gave a 4 2-on-1 interviews. Classic interview questions. Dinner with residents the night before, 3 2/3-on-1 interviews, tour of facilites, nice lunch 5 minute introduction by PD, followed by tours for my group. Then 3 2-1 panel interviews. Program Advantages Nice faculty and very happy residents. Charlottesville sounded great. Charlottesville. Very friendly faculty and very enthusiastic new program director. Location, new energetic residency director, resident happiness Charlottesville. Residents have continuity-type clinic, own offices for patient care. Excellent faculty who are committed to residency training. Charlottesville is nice. Solid clinical training Ridiculously high surgical volume (250-300 cataracts). Begin minor OR procedures during first year. Program Disadvantages Faculty is small and they don't cover all subs. A little small. Again, not necessarily a bad thing. no county hospital, VA that is far away Facility feels outdated. Somewhat small faculty. Park far away. Small program. Small program with a small number of faculty.
