Interview Experiences
5 minute interviews.. pretty typical
4 interviews, tour, no lunch
Really sold the program. 5 faculty (1 on 1) interviews and 1 PGY2 (3 on 1).
Program Advantages
really great chairman
great fellowship placement, do cataract surgery as first year, located on nice part of DC
Great program in DC with excellent attendings. You get to see a lot of pathology.
DC. Great fellowship matching. Friendly faculty and residents. Residents seemed very happy. Good private practice physician supervision/teaching.
clinical experience is great in DC, wonderful city
Program Disadvantages
teaching isn't very structured
Have to travel to VA that is 1-2 hours away, no resident run clinic, no county hospital
Poor surgical volume. Travel to Martinsburg VA. +- depending on career goals: most of the trauma goes to Georgetown (WHC).
relatively unknown program in ophthalmology world
