odd
Slick. They know they have a reputation for being 'malignant', and it doesn't bother them. Does NOT seem like a malignant program
Dinner the night before at local restaurant with good resident turn out. They did a good job of trying to get variety of class years present. Interview day starts with PPT presentation, which they give you on a flashdrive (helpful for referring to later
Beautiful city, people seemed stuck up.

reputation, salary, research options and location
I doubt you will get better training elsewhere. Famous faculty, obviously. Very progressive place, always on the cutting edge. SF is an amazing, one of a kind city.
Phenomenal hospital system with several sites for rotations: Moffitt/Long, SFGH, VA, Mt. Zion, CHO, Kaiser. Building new hospital to open summer 2014. Strengths include neuro, CCM, OB (high acuity), trauma/airway experience.
Big name, research opportunities, SF is awesome.

hours
Rotate through 6 or so different hosptials. SF is crowded and SUPER EXPENSIVE.
Not many. Cost of living in SF is high.
Stuck up people, residents seemed unhappy.
