Very long and tiring interview day. 6 interviews with planned questions. Nice cocktail hour at end of day.
- Program Advantages:
Prestigious name. Strong clinical exposure. Strong OB and cardiac.
- Program Disadvantages:
No transplant or trauma.

Introduction with PD and chair. 5 interviews. Nice tour of the ether dome.
- Program Advantages:
Very well rounded. No real weaknesses. Very prestigious name.
- Program Disadvantages:
Staggered start to CA-1 year. Very research oriented.

Long talk by PD. Spend all day in scrubs. 3 interviews. PD interview is only one that matters (length of interview differs between applicants).
- Program Advantages:
Strong didactic and simulation curriculum. Very happy residents. Awesome PD. Strong cardiac, neuro, and transplant. Awesome moonlighting opportunities.
- Program Disadvantages:
Trauma is hit or miss. Regional is so-so. Peds is weak.

- Program Advantages:
Strong cardiac, CCM, transplant and Peds. Prestigious name.
- Program Disadvantages:
PD is not involved in resident life. Weak regional and pain. Location is in Washington Heights.
  New York Presb Hosp (Cornell):

3 Interviews plus tour of housing.
- Program Advantages:
Young and well-liked PD (new this year). Strong regional, pain, thoracic and CCM exposure. Housing located across street from the hospital. Opportunity to rotate at MSKCC and HSS.
- Program Disadvantages:
Weaker transplant, trauma and Peds exposure.

Hospital was closed so interview day was held in law office.
- Program Advantages:
Opportunity to rotate at Bellevue (lots of trauma and autonomy). Location is pretty sweet. Salary is best in NY.
- Program Disadvantages:
Weaker clinical exposure than other NY hospitals. Only advanced positions available.
  St Luke's-Roosevelt Hosp Ctr:

1 interview with both chair and PD.
- Program Advantages:
Strong regional, cardiac and pain. Subsidized housing provided.
- Program Disadvantages:
Not affiliated with an academic institution. Clinical exposure not as strong as others in NYC.

- Program Advantages:
Very nice PD. No fellowships offered = residents do not compete for cases. Strong fellowship match.
- Program Disadvantages:
Located in the boonies. Average clinical experience.

North Carolina

- Program Advantages:
Cheap cost of living. Very well rounded. Strong cardiac, regional, thoracic, and transplant. Strong name.
- Program Disadvantages:
Department comes off a little conceited. Location is very rural.

Pennsylvania
