Massachusetts
  Brigham and Women's Hosp:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
big interview group, nice interviews but quite challenging. most questions were 'psychological profiling' in nature. concerted effort to brand themselves as 'happy harvard' but somehow was pimped by attending in the OR and resident had no interest in talk
- Program Advantages:
rep. case mix. quality of faculty.
- Program Disadvantages:
critical care anesthesia has a ways to go here. big class

blah.
- Program Disadvantages:
gunners. did an ICU away here and people were not friendly and there were way way too many fellows. witnessed faculty vs. nursing staff fights that put the residents in unsafe positions in their ability to provide good care. toxic.

loved this place. had thoughtful, challenging interviews, other applicants were smart and fun. a smaller program with no case deficiencies and a real commitment to resident education. the chair takes call!
- Program Advantages:
no major case deficiencies though they do not do lung transplants. outstanding chair and PD. lectures are great, small class, portland is pretty, hospital is new.
- Program Disadvantages:
rain

Washington
  U Washington:
- Rotated at this institution
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
chair gave a hurried overview of why UW is so great, PD seemed very nice, interviews were bland and useless. despite my ENTIRE CV being about rotating at this institution, no one seemed to know I had been there
- Program Advantages:
excellent reputation, trauma, icu, transplant. no case deficiencies. will be superbly trained. Harborview is the best hospital on the planet for training in trauma/ICU/neuro.
- Program Disadvantages:
residents work very, very hard, and there are so many faculty, including many research based faculty, that your happiness doesn't seem too important at the main hospital.
  Virginia Mason Med Ctr:
- Applied
- Attended interview
