  U California (San Francisco):
- Applied

Beautiful city, people seemed stuck up.
- Program Advantages:

- Program Disadvantages:
Stuck up people, residents seemed unhappy.

Colorado
  U Colorado:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Very relaxed interview day. Went to dinner at an awesome restaurant in downtown Denver. Free hotel.
- Program Advantages:
Nicest hospital I interviewed at- brand new, beautiful. Denver is an amazing place with a good cost of living, big city feel, right next to the Rockies. Residents seemed genuinely happy and seemed to work very hard but had adequate time off. Very balanced
- Program Disadvantages:
Not a huge name in anesthesia- so if you want to do research or academics, it's possible but you would have better luck going to a bigger name.

Illinois
  Loyola U:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Very nice residents, dinner at the hospital prior, free hotel. Went for drinks with residents after the dinner, all seemed very down to earth and nice.
- Program Advantages:
Very nice people, amazing gym connected to the hospital, PD was the best I came across- very nice. Despite reputation, places grads into impressive fellowships.
- Program Disadvantages:
Maywood is removed from Chicago. Not the best research.
McGaw Med Ctr of Northwestern U:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
No hotel, great dinner.
- Program Advantages:
Big name, beautiful hospital, best location for Chicago residencies- right downtown by the lake. Great OB, Peds exposure
- Program Disadvantages:
Worked VERY hard. Residents seemed unhappy and stuck up. I got a very bad vibe from this place and thought it would be my #1, but I ended up ranking it much further down.
  Rush U Med Ctr:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Good dinner, no hotel.
- Program Advantages:
New hospital, downtown Chicago. Get to be the Bull's anesthesiologist.
- Program Disadvantages:
Residents eluded to some malignant features of the program, a big red flag for me.
Illinois
  U Chicago:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Good dinner, beautiful campus, stayed at the on campus housing- don't recommend, it was a dorm with community showers...not the best for prepping for an interview.
- Program Advantages:
Very nice people, huge name, good research, impressive fellowship matches for grads. Building (may be completed now) new portion of the hospital. Chicago is a great city. Ranked #1, loved this place. Felt very comfortable here and the residents seemed ver
- Program Disadvantages:
Many residents said PD 'forced' them into fellowships, which is almost a plus if you're sure you want to do a fellowship, but not great if you don't. Not the best location in Chicago, but easy to drive to, esp early in the morning.
  U Illinois COM at Chicago:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Very nice people, good dinner, no hotel.
- Program Advantages:
Nice people, well-rounded education. Residents very happy.
- Program Disadvantages:
Overshadowed by the bigger/perceived better residencies in Chicago.

Michigan
  U Michigan:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
2 nights free in hotel! Made a mini vacation out of it. Day of interview dinner at BWW, informal and very fun- was able to speak to many of the residents informally. PD is nice but can be intimidating.
- Program Advantages:
Very well-rounded, great work-life balance. Low hours AFTER intern year. Great research, big name. Ann Arbor is a great town to live in and has anything a bigger city would.
- Program Disadvantages:
Intern year is supposedly worse than a surgical intern year, and is required. Residents feel extremely prepared after it though.

New York
  New York Presb Hosp (Columbia):
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Great dinner, stayed with friend bc hotels were $300+ per night. Fun interviews, PD is young but enthusiastic and excited about future.
- Program Advantages:
NYC is awesome and the location of hospitals is amazing. Top notch research and facilities. Residents seemed happy, prepared. Great fellowship placement. PD was great. Subsidized apts across the street from hospital so all calls are 'home calls'.
- Program Disadvantages:
A few residents said they were over-worked and felt residency was kind of malignant. NYC is just so expensive. If it was any less expensive would have ranked much higher, loved the place.

Pennsylvania
  U Pennsylvania:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Program Advantages:
Big name, happy residents
- Program Disadvantages:
REsidents seemed overworked

Wisconsin
  U Wisconsin:
- Applied

- Interview Experience:
Very fun dinner, residents are awesome. Hotel included
- Program Advantages:
Very well-rounded, Madison is awesome. Residents were very fun and seemed very happy. Hospital is very cool. Good research, okay fellowship placement
- Program Disadvantages:
Not the biggest name...seemed very similar to Michigan, but with less reputation. Madison is a cool city, but removed from a lot.
