Siegelman really stresses research during his presentation. Magid is very nice. Residents were surprisingly cool, and almost everyone I talked to was headed for private practice.

For some, Baltimore (I kind of liked it).

Probably the happiest residents I have met. Less busy than other big-time academic places. Very flexible program.

Although a great city, Boston winters are harsh. Probably won't be as well trained as compared to places that work you hard (i.e. MIR).

Friendly residents and faculty. Residents felt their autonomy at Ben Taub made them very well trained. Lots of foreign grads.
- Program Advantages:
Seemed like an awesome place if you are interested in IR - definitely bank an impressive case load. Good moonlighting.
- Program Disadvantages:
Primary hospital is Ben Taub (county), which is good and bad. Rotations at private hospitals seemed weak. Institutional problems at Baylor.

Great ER/Trauma exposure. MD Anderson experience is unique and a major plus. Great moonlighting opportunities. Cool residents.

Match Experience
Programs are very sensitive and want applicants to treat them like they are the best... you've gotta play the game. Rads programs are competitive... apply/interview broadly and don't get overconfident.
