Interview Experiences Good pleasant tour of dept, 3-4 interviews, lunch (pizza/soda), talk with residents, session with chair, tour of dept group interview, go around the table and talk for 5 min with chair Interview day well planned
Friendly interviewers/residents
Round-table Q and A session with Chairman several interviews. group interview with program director. have a question ready for him. Extremely efficient. Very nice dinner the night before, with the chance to speak to residents away from attendings (but see some of the attendings as well beforehand). Overall, very smoothly run for such a large interviewee group. Great food! PD was a bit arrogant during my interview. I felt that some of the residents and other faculty were a little awkward.
Pizza lunch was delicious. Good interview-day experience. Great. Laid back fun people pretty good & had you check out both campuses since the programs are merging 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages LIJ is a great hospital, lots of pathology, diversity of pt population, ACR chair of education is PD high salary, great teaching, board pass rate Great location
Great fellowships after graduation
nice facilities. nice ppl. Like Sinai, a top class program. Other applicants extremely well-qualified; felt lucky to be there. Research is truly world-class with separate biomedical imaging center. Has reputation for being one of the best programs in NY.
Great fellowship opportunities. Good training. Cool attendings. Residents seemed really well-trained and collegial. There is a cafeteria fyi. Very high level of camaraderie. Really friendly people who have a good time. high salaries

Program Disadvantages Not particularly academic NO CAFETERIA! If you don't like research, probably not the program for you. Slightly more formal than other programs, so if you enjoy lounging in scrubs also probably not for you. Far away from the city.
less teaching than other places
reputation/name is mediocre
not NYC (long island)
