Interview Experiences Ranked #14 Nice and laid back. Friendly staff and faculty Very relaxed interview day. Introduction by PD, followed by 3 interviews with faculty/residents. Lunch with residents afterwards. Had to wait for one interviewer who was 2 hours late. Laid back. PD did a little education on interview day. Got the feel that the residents worked hard and program was resident run. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages New Orleans is a cool city. Very tight-knit program that creates a hospitable work environment. Residents are allowed to be autonomous very early in this program. NOLA! The food, people, and cultural experiences available in the big easy are second to none. In New Orleans; if you like it. By the way major facelift from pre Katrina days. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages Faculty was very small, ~13 full time staff i think when I interviewed to 12 residents. Call was very tough with such a low number of residents (4) Minimal women's and children's imaging.
Small class.
Low volume. Small, limited research. Not Level 1 trauma center 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
