Wonderful program. Ranked #2, considered for #1. Dinner with residents night prior. Interviews well-organized, go to county hospital at end of day - takes some extra time but you need to see it. Very large program - 16/year.
- Program Advantages:
Good vibe from staff and residents, everyone seemed happy. Top-rate teaching and research. Atlanta is big/diverse.
- Program Disadvantages:
Travel between multiple institutions.

Good experience. Dinner night before in Wicker Park with residents - cool. Lots of interviews on day of. Would have ranked highly if I didn't feel like Chicago was too big for me.
- Program Advantages:
Residents are happy. Staff are enthusiastic. Chicago my favorite big city in the US.
- Program Disadvantages:
Hyde Park neighborhood is intimidating for some. Not a level 1 trauma center.

Dinner night before with residents. Early conference worth it to see quality of teaching. 4 interviews. Ranked very highly.
- Program Advantages:
Good facilities. Neuro and MSK are about as good as it gets. Residents happy. Good program for families. FREE health insurance, free iPad.
- Program Disadvantages:
Parking is bad. Singles struggle in Iowa City. IR is still recovering. Small college town, 5 hours from Minneapolis or Chicago. NO moonlighting.

Kansas

- Program Advantages:
Kansas City is cool. Good oversight on call nights. PD is great.
- Program Disadvantages:
Salary is MUCH lower than most places. Middle of the road Midwest program.

Seems to be rising program, more research as of late. Kansas City is nice.
- Program Disadvantages:
Rotate at multiple hospitals. PD made me odd comment, saying I wouldn't rank them highly - she was right.

New Hampshire

- Program Advantages:
Good teaching and research options. Hanover/Lebanon cool for outdoor activities.
- Program Disadvantages:
I'm fairly laid-back, and did not mesh personality-wise with the people, though they were nice. Small college town.

New Mexico

Interview one person at a time! Had the morning session to my self. Program coordinator was fantastic. No dinner night before. Dept chair REALLY wants you to be yourself in interview - pretty cool.
- Program Advantages:
5-year categorical program - tons of rads in year one! Staff and residents were pleasant.
- Program Disadvantages:
Albuquerque - some may love it, I couldn't see myself there for 5 years.

North Carolina

Dinner night before at microbrewery with residents. Typical interview day. If driving, allow plenty of time to find parking.
- Program Advantages:
Residents were happy, staff was happy. Everyone really wanted to be there. Portland = maybe coolest city in US, less expensive than Cali or Seattle. Hospital is beautiful - impressive tour.
- Program Disadvantages:
Residents stressed autonomy necessary for success, less hand-holding than other places. Parking bad, but public transit good.

Phenomenal teaching and reputation. Great facilities.
- Program Disadvantages:
Only place I visited where it seemed like residents were highly stressed. Call rumored to be brutal. C-ville is small college town, but could be great for families.

No dinner night before, lunch out with residents after interviews on day of. Program director very hands on, gives tour himself. Biggest pleasant surprise of interview tour.
- Program Advantages:
Possibly best PD I encountered. Beautiful hospital and facilities. Located in nice suburb. Teaching is solid. Considered ranking #1.
- Program Disadvantages:
Far from downtown. Wisconsin weather is deal-breaker for some.
