Interview Experiences A fairly informal interview day. Meet with 2 facutly, the PD, and 1 resident. PD takes you on the tour. Pretty standard. Program director takes you around on the tour of the facilities. PD gives the tour No Dinner
8:30-1:30
The program invites more people to interview than the number of spots, interviews were on Mondays and Fridays in Dec and Jan, call to schedule interview right away Overall friendly. One guy asked me about a lot of details on my application like he was quizzing me. PD gave the tour and was really nice. Ok lunch. No dinner night before, lunch out with residents after interviews on day of. Program director very hands on, gives tour himself. Biggest pleasant surprise of interview tour. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages Very stable program. PD is not going anywhere. Tbe program director. Really liked this place! Milwaukee seemed like a nice mid-size-to big city with a fair amount to do; Program increased size to 8 res/yr; facilities are nice with University, VA, and Peds hospital all on same campus Solid program and training. Possibly best PD I encountered. Beautiful hospital and facilities. Located in nice suburb. Teaching is solid. Considered ranking #1. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages Milwaukee, WI. Class size a little on the small size. Not top tier program; not as many fellowships at home program Minimal moonlighting. I didn't really like Milwaukee. Far from downtown. Wisconsin weather is deal-breaker for some. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
