Interview Experiences Everyone was super nice. Chair asks absurd questions, but they are the same for everyone. Relaxed environment, residents, staff. Conversational interviews. Great pre-interview social. Good program overview answering most all questions about volume, studies/resident, call, staff ratio, etc. Everybody talks about the faculty member who asks you to describe the physics of MRI, etc. Otherwise, it was all very laid-back. Very friendly faculty and staff. Chairman ask weird questions but knew they were coming 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages Great pathology. Enthusiastic, young PD. Residents nearly all moonlight. Pretty laid back residency. Lots of attendings. Strong facilities, new dictation system, fabulous viewstations. New research facility in the making. High staff/resident ratio. High studies/resident numbers. Huge pathology variety. Strong conferences. Very relaxed work environment without being di Great pathology. Young, enthusiastic PD. Recently added a lot of young faculty straight from fellowships. Overall a very solid program 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages unstable faculty Stability of faculty was a question. 24 hr attending coverage in ED may be a negative to training. Location +/- ? Jackson could be for some. Not a lot of moonlighting I saw, or wasn't as good as other places 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
