Interview Experiences Good mostly pleasant Excellent. Great food (breakfast and lunch provided). Vaguely remember 3 interviews, 1 with resident. Interviews with PD, associate PD, and residents Outstanding program, great people. small but impressive program, faculty harvard trained, lectures from harvard professors, great location in cambridge, 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages small, personal, nice atmosphere Cozy program, but set up so that residents aren't necessary. Focus is on learning and call isn't as bad as it otherwise would be with such a small program. Very good faculty. Harvard affiliation allows you great fellowships. Residents seemed very happy
Great IR training (residents from MGH rotate through Mt. Auburn to do IR)
Can rotate at MGH, etc., but better IR experience in-house. Lots of independence. Small, intimate program, great faculty. Nice hybrid model program. Great fellowship placements. Boston/Cambridge. The camaraderie between residents and attendings was clearly strong. negative is worry about pathology being the smallest of the Harvard hospitals, cost of living expensive 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages residents unhappy No obvious red flags. 3 residents/year
Winter in Cambridge can be brutal Lower volume, smaller program, less academic (though opportunities for research/cross-pollination easy to come by). More call than some bigger programs (though this is arguably an advantage) Despite the Harvard affiliation, at the end of the day it's still a small community hospital with a small residency class. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
