Interview Experiences great day with nothing to hide.
everyone was really nice and down to eart. standard, don;t come wearing a suit you will change into scrub for the entire day - It was a long day, but I was comfortable in my scrubs and tennis shoes! I much prefer the opportunity to spend more time at a place in a more casual way. Plenty of snacks along the way. Long talk by PD. Spend all day in scrubs. 3 interviews. PD interview is only one that matters (length of interview differs between applicants). 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages best in NYC IMHO. very pro-resident. PD is awesome. Could definitely see myself there, but other circumstances made NYC my 2nd choice city Excellent didactics, good cases - The PD, Adam. The effort he puts in is unparalleled. He spent much time sitting and talking with us and answered any question we could think of without us having to ask. Plenty of good coffee provided as well.
- Simulation experience Strong didactic and simulation curriculum. Very happy residents. Awesome PD. Strong cardiac, neuro, and transplant. Awesome moonlighting opportunities. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages none really. ?no catchy name, but only if you're into that. i hear they're rising in the anesthesia world hours=you will work very hard since the surgical volume has increased. residents stay to 6-7 routinelly even though they aren;t on call. you will be compensated though. - The ancillary staff were downright rude to me multiple times here as a visiting student. Many people here seem high strung. It could just be a NYC thing, but something to consider. Trauma is hit or miss. Regional is so-so. Peds is weak. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
