Interview Experiences Did 7 year interview only - was kinda offended they didn't also offer me a clinical rotation. Non-stressful, 8 interviews total. 2 of the interviews were 2 on 1. Residents made a good effort to be completely open about programs strengths/weaknesses. Limited resident interaction. Chairman was among the best I've met. Well organized and nice day, but only got to meet a 1/3 of the faculty. This is a large program so that was understandable 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages Well-rounded, strong in head and neck and otology. Great night float call system. Very strong research opportunities. Great facilities, strong research and political power Great program, tons of research. Very good if you are interested in academics. Residents get good fellowships and seem to have well rounded operative experience 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages Some of the faculty were almost rude to me during the interview. I guess that goes with the territory. Surprised to hear paper charts still used in the hospital, though this should change soon hopefully. I didn't fit in with the residents, case log was mediocre Only a few residents showed up to the night before social event. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
