Went very smoothly
- Program Advantages:
This is an up and coming program. Just joined forces with Oakwook Hospital System. Building new clinic and offices for clinicians and residents. New chair and PD are really nice and have really saved the program. Very strong in dermpath.
- Program Disadvantages:
Currently on probation...but this will soon change; a lot of changes have occurred in a relatively short amount of time, so it is a big adjustment for everyone.

Mayo clinic is well, the Mayo Clinic. You will see the zebras here. If you are an aspiring academic dermatologist this is the place for you. You will work hard and get amazing training.

Rochester; No pediatric dermatologist; lots of inpatient derm; dress code makes the environment feel stuffy;

Very down to earth program. If you want to do Pediatric Dermatology, this is the place for you. They have 4 peds derm faculty. All of the faculty are really nice. Great city, only 1 hour from Chicago.
- Program Disadvantages:
Program director and Chairman recently left, so the program is in transition (but they have a new PD and an interim chair).

Don't be afraid to apply broadly. I am from a bottom tier midwestern school, and I thought I had no chances of getting interviews on either coast...but I ended up matching at my #1 choice out west.
