Interview Experiences Start at 9:30.
Meet with two faculty/staff as well as PD. Very casual interviews that were mostly just conversations. Free lunch and conference with the residents at 12:00. Finished by 1:00. Only 1 person on interview day. I was intimidated at first, but everybody was super laid back. Integris only interviews one applicant per day, so I was personally shown around by one of the residents. Interviewed with 3 of the staff radiologists who were all really nice guys, I had already worked with them when I rotated there so we just kind of t 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Advantages Very casual atmosphere. Very resident friendly.
Everyone seemed happy and pleased to be where they are. Moonlighting. No fellows for IR where you get to pick what procedures you go in for/learn from. Neuro-IR board examiner. Moonlighting one of the best around. Conference schedule made for a super-cush environment (4p conference and then you go home eve Solid community program, very well-trained staff, residents all get along well, residents have plenty of time to study and aren't overworked. 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
Program Disadvantages You must be self-motivated to learn and read studies, otherwise the attendings will read it all before you get a chance. No internal fellowship opportunities if that's your thing. Smaller program (4 residents per year), community-based label may hurt it 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17 17
