Applications
New York
  Mount Sinai SOM:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Super casual interview day. Had to wait a long time in between interviews. Seemed like many of the interviewers were busy with their clinical work.
- Program Advantages:
Nice subsidized housing. Located on the east side of NYC (if you prefer the west side this may be a disadvantage). Friendly residents. Strong Interventional radiology presence.
- Program Disadvantages:
No university affiliation. Weak research potential outside of IR. Residents get little (currently no) exposure to reading CT's on call bc they use a NightHawk service. I thought this was a red flag. Facilities seem subpar (except for their mammography are

- Interview Experience:
Organized and easy going interviews. Pre-interview dinner was extremely fun. Could have invested a little more effort in their interview presentation/day. (I.e a formal introduction to the Chairman and Program Director and a more descriptive folder of inf

  New York Presb Hosp (Cornell):
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
They put A LOT of resources into the interview day (the chairman gives a two hour tour twice each interview day). Very organized. Wish they give the applicants some exposure to the resident lectures/didactics.
- Program Advantages:
Great location. Happy faculty/residents. Very strong musculoskeletal and oncology exposure.
- Program Disadvantages:
The housing they offer is pretty expensive for a subsidized option. IR department not a strength. Seemed like the training intensity was a little too cushy/light - one of the senior residents casually told me NYU residents were better trained clinically.
