Residents and faculty are very nice and friendly. Interviews were 10 minutes each and went by very quickly.
- Program Advantages:
Pediatric dermatology- they have peds clinics four days a week and have 2 pediatric dermatologists Dermatopathology- Dr. Smoller is well-known and is very good. They take 2 fellows a year.
- Program Disadvantages:
Surgery is a little weak. One MOHs surgeon and no MOHs fellows.

Georgia

Very relaxing and fun. Played catch phrase with the residents between interviews.
- Program Advantages:
Friendly atmosphere between residents and attendings
- Program Disadvantages:
Only have 3 attendings, and the PD stated at interview that he was retiring later in the year with no replacement as of yet. One attending does Mohs, and he also is their dermatopathologist.

Kansas

Interviewers were divided into morning and afternoon sessions. Some faculty members were sick on my interview day, so I didn't get to meet all of them. Got the impression that the residents have a lot if influence over what happens with the program.
- Program Advantages:
Strong in peds derm
- Program Disadvantages:
Small size, no MOHs surgeon on faculty. Decent dermatopathology

Missouri
  St Louis U SOM:

The worst interview experience ever!! Applicants were left to sit in a conference room all day with no entertainment at all until their interviews. My interviews didn't start until 2:30, so I sat in the conference room from 9 AM until 2:30 - bored out o
- Program Advantages:
Strong dermatopathology!!!! I believe they had 4 dermatopathologists in faculty- all were derm trained except one. Strong cosmetics exposure
- Program Disadvantages:
No pediatric dermatologists Everyone is required to do a research project each year, but they aren't given much free time for this.
Missouri

Had dinner on campus the night before and then went downtown for drinks afterward. Interview day was fine. Residents didn't really seem like they got along that well, and they were extremely smart but very nerdy.
- Program Advantages:
Solid well-rounded program
- Program Disadvantages:
Required research projects, no academic time, only one MOHs surgeon for 15+ residents

North Carolina

Very laid back. PD takes you on a tour of Greenville in his van.
- Program Advantages:
Very close-knit program with a family feel.
- Program Disadvantages:
Only 4 faculty members. No pediatric dermatologist.

South Carolina

Dinner the night before was very good. Residents seemed cool. PD was a little weird-talked about floods and natural disasters. Faculty were nice.
- Program Advantages:
Strong surgery- 3 MOHs surgeons, but also have a fellow
- Program Disadvantages:
No pediatric dermatologist No derm researchers Dermpath could be better

Texas
  Texas A&M COM-Scott and White:

Residents and faculty were very nice and laid-back. Power point presentation about the program. Facilities were very nice with a lot of work space for residents.
- Program Advantages:
Very good, rapidly-growing program. One fellowship trained MOHs surgeon and 2 others that are a part of ASMS. Very strong surgery experience. They start you out doing MOHs your first week as a resident. They now have seven or eight faculty members and
- Program Disadvantages:
No pediatric dermatologist
  U Texas Med Branch Hosps:

Interview day is very LONG! You interview individually with every faculty member and every resident. Lunch was nice. Residents were friendly.
- Program Advantages:
Solid, well-rounded program.
- Program Disadvantages:
Galveston is still rebuilding and looks somewhat like a ghost town since Ike came through. They lost their children's hospital and have no plans to rebuild. They do not rotate at a VA- lose a lot of valuable surgical experience. Compete with UT Houst
