-No full-time Mohs

Florida Jackson Mem Hosp/Jackson: |  |  | - Applied - Attended interview - Interview Experience:
| Quick interviews, roughly ten 2 on 1's. Faculty are bubbly, friendly, and know your application well. Got asked specific thoughtful questions about my research here which really impressed me. | - Program Advantages:
| -Biggest program in country 8 residents
-Probably some of the best clinical training out there with inpatient unit, experts in just about everything, heavy case volume.
-Residents were leaving this program with plans of performing mohs without a fello | - Program Disadvantages:
| -No fellowships (again, possibly an advantage)
-Miami is a cool place but not the safest area (not dangerous either) and from what I was told it's REALLY hot a lot of the time

-Good size program (4 spots my year)

-Not in the nicest area of Chicago (but not scary)

| 14 interviews, 10-15mins, mostly 1 on 1, standard fare in terms of questions | - Program Advantages:

-Strong faculty with leaders in peds-derm and immunobullous
-Growing program with lots of new, great young faculty, in 5-10 years it will only get better
-Excellent dermpath
-Variety of clinical sites is great for training!

-Not as much autonomy for the residents, no real continuity experience/patient ownership (which may change)

-Clinics are in a nice building within a mall | - Program Disadvantages:

| I rotated here so my interview was a part of the rotation, 15-20 min sit down with everyone | - Program Advantages:
| -UVA is awesome
-Chair is a real gentleman
-Former chair is hilarious and fun
-Both are encyclopedias/clinical answer keys
-Other faculty is also very strong
-Overall fun working environment
-2 Mohs surgeons, good hands-on
-Dermpath attending is to | - Program Disadvantages:
| -Less autonomy/volume than some other places
-Small program (2/year) but likely growing
-No cosmetics/lasers
-Really liked this place a lot

Match Experience Process is a very difficult one, convinced that this is the most competitive specialty. Dean's Letter had me tied at #1 in class with top board scores but only got 8/50 interviews. No home program, mid-tier med school, and lots of classmate applicants probably made it harder
